Spamdog

Permissions required on iOS

Required only for Calls features

These steps are required for Spamdog to protect you from call spam:

  1. Open iOS Settings app and locate Phone

  2. Navigate to Call Blocking & Identification

  3. Turn on all toggles you see labelled as Spamdog

  4. Move back to Phone and locate and open SMS/Call Reporting

  5. Select Spamdog

  6. Return to Spamdog to confirm the permissions and proceed

Required only for filtering Messages (iOS 18 and earlier)

These permissions are required for WhatSpam to protect you from malicious texts:

  1. Open iOS Settings app and locate Phone

  2. Navigate to SMS/Call Reporting

  3. Select Spamdog (if you already did this when enabling Spamdog for Calls, you don't have to change anything)

  4. Find Messages from the iOS Settings app and open Unknown & Spam

  5. Toggle on Filter Unknown

  6. Select Spamdog

  7. Return to Spamdog to confirm the permissions and proceed

Required only for filtering Messages (iOS 26+)

These permissions are required for WhatSpam to protect you from malicious texts:

  1. Open iOS Settings app and locate Phone

  2. Navigate to SMS/Call Reporting

  3. Select Spamdog (if you already did this when enabling Spamdog for Calls, you don't have to change anything)

  4. Find Messages from the iOS Settings app and toggle on Filter Spam

  5. Go to Text Message Filter

  6. Select Spamdog

  7. Return to Spamdog to confirm the permissions and proceed
